Comedian Mirco Nontschew died in early December at the age of 52. It is now clear when the funeral will take place.

Mirco Nontschew’s (1969-2021) death shook his fans and colleagues in early December. Now it is clear when the comedian should find his last rest. “The funeral is in January and takes place in close family circles,” explains manager Bertram Riedel on request from RTL. The family does not want to communicate a narrower time limit.

Mirco Nontschew was found dead in his Berlin apartment on the afternoon of December 3rd. The police opened a death investigation shortly afterwards. The Berlin artist was only 52 years old. The German comedy world was dismayed by the colleague’s untimely death.

Carolin Kebekus: “Mirco was an exceptional talent”

In an interview with the news agency spot on news, Carolin Kebekus (41) revealed that she would remember the “RTL Saturday Night” star as one of “Germany’s greatest comedians”. “Mirco leaves a ditch. Nobody can do what he could. He was just an exceptional talent and, on top of that, incredibly nice,” said the comedienne. Most recently, Kebekus and Nontschew stood in front of the camera for the first and third seasons of “LOL: Last One Laughing”.

Nontschew was part of the first and the already wacky and not yet released third season of the Amazon comedy show. The streaming service has already commented on the future of the format. “The broadcast of the third season of ‘LOL: Last One Laughing’ with Mirco Nontschew is planned for spring 2022,” confirmed Amazon spokesman Michael Ostermeier when asked by spot on news. The streaming service is sticking to the broadcast period that has already been announced.

In the 1990s, Nontschew became a celebrated comedian, especially as a member of the cult series “RTL Saturday Night”. He also celebrated great success with the “7 dwarfs” films by and with Otto Waalkes (73).
