The election of Miss France 2021, although postponed, will have taken place on Saturday December 19, 2020, broadcast from Lille on TF1. This year, the beauty contest celebrated its 100 candles. To mark the event, the jury was made up of former Miss France. Elodie Gossuin, elected in 2000, was one of its members and was very proud to be part of this college of beauty queens. The radio host even shared a message on her Instagram account hours before the ceremony. "Honored to be alongside Golden Nanas who wrote the history of Miss France, these women with many incredible destinies. This centenary @missfranceoff promises to be magical. We need so much to dream in this crazy world @genevievedefontenay I wish you had received all the Love you deserve. This story is also and above all yours. I love you and we miss you ", wrote the 40-year-old mom.
"It's like I'm spitting on Miss France's scarf"
Élodie Gossuin does not forget where she comes from and remains deeply marked by her meeting with Geneviève de Fontenay. In an interview she gave to our colleagues of Paris Match, on December 18, 2020, she thus proclaimed, once again, the friendship she has with the former president of the Miss France Committee: "Come what may, I will never be able to forget what I went through with her and what I owe her. So my gratitude, despite our differences, will be eternal. Even if I don't agree with her, I will never be able to spit on what she is. It's like I was spitting on Miss France's scarf, never in my life ", thus assured Élodie Gossuin. The young woman admitted to sharing the same values as "the Lady with the Hat", but regretted her absence during the ceremony. "I am part of the jury and if I accepted, it is precisely for everything that this Miss France scarf represents that I have mine, it is to thank people. That's why I told her it was important that she be there too. People love her, for them she is Miss France from Miss France. And she loves people. So in itself, that reason alone is enough. " Geneviève de Fontenay, however, turned a deaf ear. "But she didn't hear him, because she has other arguments of her own ", added Miss France 2001, visibly disappointed.
