This Monday, January 31, LCI is launching Mission Convince, its new political program with Ruth Elkrief and David Pujadas at the helm. Find out what the concept of this program is.
A few months before the presidential election, all the channels are taking a close interest in it, offering political programs to cover this campaign which, due to the health context, will be played out more on the small screen than in meetings. LCI is no exception to the rule. This Monday, January 31, the continuous news channel of the TF1 group draws in prime-time mission to convince, presented by Ruth Elkrief and David Pujadas. Corn what is the concept? As its name suggests, the two journalists will give the floor to the candidates so that they try to convince citizens who are not part of their electorate. Worse still, who are abstentionists. Candidates for the highest office will face a panel of six people, selected in partnership with the FIFG and representative of the French population. Their only common points: no longer believing in politics and having moved away from the polls.
“We started from the principle that today there is a form of party of the distant, the skeptical, the angry who who no longer believe in anything, who worry, who no longer understand, which are outside the system. And our idea was to reconnect that with the policies“explains Ruth Elkrief at the microphone of Franceinfo. And David Pujadas to outbid in the columns of 20 minutes : “We want to try, on our small scale, to interest the French in politics. We had the idea of this panel of angry, abstaining, distant from politics, who will come back from program to program. They will see all the candidates parade and become familiar characters for viewers“.
How will Mission Convince take place?
These will be accompanied by two other faces of the channel: Paul Larrouturou and Minteh N’Fanteh. It is the latter who will open the program with a “Who are you?”an exercise that depends on the personnel, the temperament“, specifies David Pujadas, while his colleague will be with the members of the panel. For this first issue, it is Valérie Pécresse – who also inaugurated France in the eyes on BFMTV – who will rub shoulders with it. “The French go listen to the guest for an hour and then come and make their remarks, in turn questioning the guest. Before, Ruth and I will ask the guest about his program. With Valérie Pécresse, there will be an economic, international, sovereign, immigration, security and social issues section.“, details David Pujadas. Will the Republican candidate convince the abstainers? Answer from this Monday, January 31.
