MMO Marvel: Images of the canceled game appear, with illustrations from the character editor

The studio Daybreak Games succeeded in adapting the DC Comics universe into an MMO with DC Universe Online, and intended to adapt its formula to the Marvel universe with a new game which had been formalized last November. Unfortunately, faced with the excessive costs that were requested to carry out this project, the publisher Enad Global 7 has chosen to end funding for this Marvel MMO, as we learned last week. Today, images of this canceled project are surfacing on ArtStation.

The character editor shows the chara-design of the canceled game

These images come to us from the portfolio of Ramiro Galandesigner on this canceled MMO, and show us the character editor that was planned.

We therefore see the character design chosen for the MMO, quite cartoonish, in line with the free-to-play fashionable lately, such as Fortnite, Roller Champions, and many others. The artist advances when to him that this aesthetic choice served to pay homage to the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.

This editor also shows us that at the start of the game, it was necessary to choose between four factions, namely the X-Men, the Avengers, the SHIELD and the Fantastic 4. You could then choose your costume as well as your superpowers, as in DC Universe Online. Sadly, that’s all that will be seen of the game, given that it’s now discontinued.
