Formalized after several months of rumors, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still quite mysterious. If we put aside all the leaks concerning it, the information on the latter is indeed very very weak, but that will soon be ancient history if we are to believe the official website of the license.
The Call of Duty site is updating, new announcements soon?
It is out of sight of the players that the official Call of Duty website has indeed updated. Thanks to our colleagues from DexertoIntelENwe learn the appearance of the game on the blog, with the added bonus the possibility of subscribing to what is called the Newsletter in order to have the latest information on the said game.
With the appearance of Modern Warfare 2 on the official site of the franchise, we can think not without difficulty thatInfinity Wardwhich is leading the title, and Activision are about to reveal more about this opus which is now highly anticipated by players.
To date, we are already sure of one thing: the Ghost operator will be there since shortly before the official release of the game, the official Twitter account of the studio had posted a profile photo but also a cover photo of two images very dark which actually hid the silhouette of the latter.
The Call of Duty of redemption?
Recently, as part of the annual financial report, Activision admitted that the sales figures for Call of Duty: Vanguard, released in November 2021, were well below the studio’s expectations. According to the developers, this is due to the time period in which the events of the Sledgehammer Games title take placenamely the Second World War, but also due to the fact that there was no innovation for this opus.
Thereby, Activision is now pinning its hopes on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which, in his words, will be “the franchise’s most successful game“.
As a reminder, Modern Warfare 2 will find its plot after the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare published in 2019. It will indeed be the direct sequel to the latter, and we should therefore certainly find well-known heads like Price or Farah.
According to several leakers in the Call of Duty environment, Modern Warfare 2 should point the tip of its nose much earlier than its predecessors since according to Tom Hendersonbut also other insiders, Infinity Ward’s Next Title Set To Release Fall 2022and more precisely during the month of October.
It is therefore only a matter of days before discovering its first trailer, but also, we hope, its first gameplay images.
