Modern Warfare 2 will introduce new game modes

With Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward is looking to shake up the traditional Call of Duty experience, notably with the arrival of new “Prisoner Rescue” and “Knockout” game modes.

Infinity Ward hopes to strike a big blow this year with Modern Warfare 2 which will mark a new turning point for the Call of Duty franchise.

MW2 will offer many new features this year to the delight of fans who are waiting for it.

And among these new features, we will be able to discover two new game modes, Prisoner Rescue and Knockout, which will join the rotation of multiplayer modes when the game is officially launched.

What are the new modes in Modern Warfare 2?

Modern Warfare 2, slated for release in October 2022, will mark a new era for CoD.

Prisoner Rescue will take on the classic hostage rescue storyline from franchises like Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six, while maintaining the intensity of the Call of Duty experience.

In this mode, there are two hostages spread across the map, and the teams are divided into attackers and defenders. Attackers can win the round by escorting hostages to safety or eliminating all defenders.

Defenders will win either by holding prisoners for the entire round or by eliminating incoming forces.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare PineModern Warfare’s Pine was one of the first Skirmish mode maps.

Knockout is more akin to the Skirmish mode of Modern Warfare (2019) and Black Ops Cold War. Teams will compete using a limited number of lives to fight for control of a deck.

Whoever holds the deck at the end of the round wins. It will therefore require real coordination to break the enemy configurations and deprive them of the objective.

All of these changes and more (like the addition of new swimming mechanics) are guaranteed to bring a new flavor that fans will enjoy experiencing in Modern Warfare 2.
