Moldova finally gives up resuming flights to Russia


The main Moldovan airline, Air Moldova, has finally given up resuming its commercial flights to Moscow as it announced last week, in the midst of the conflict in Ukraine.

The Moldovan company announced on Friday the resumption on October 1 of flights to Russia, interrupted following the outbreak of the Russian offensive against Ukraine on February 24. Moldova, a small country of 2.6 million inhabitants who has been a candidate since the end of June to join the European Union, is close to Ukraine.
