Nicola Madden, 43, died of a heart attack while video conferencing. Her 9-year-old daughter, Charlotte, did everything to save her life.
It was in Waterloo, UK, that tragedy struck. Tuesday, January 11, Nicola Madden, 43, was on a business videoconference when she suffered a massive cardiac arrest. Seeing her mother collapse, 9-year-old Charlotte immediately phoned her father, Stuart McDougall. Unfortunately, the latter could not do anything to save his ex-girlfriend, reveals the LiverpoolEcho. “It’s hard to find what to say”, he confided to the British daily. She was a really good person and she was very well liked. We were separated but remained very good friends. Most people don’t have that luxury. It’s really painful. No one ever had anything bad to say about her.”
To help Nicola Madden’s family finance her funeral, a friend of the latter, Danielle Cramsie, launched a GoFundMe page. “Anyone who knew Nicola knows what an impact she had on everyone she met., can we read on the GoFundMe page. She had an amazing sense of humor and a heart of gold, she would have done anything for anyone. (…) Paradise is even more beautiful with you there and this much darker world without you and your infectious laughter. You were the soul of the party, an absolute diamond, we truly lost one of the best. Sleep well, Nick.”
€6,500 raised on GoFundMe
In forty-eight hours, £5,450 (around €6,500) was collected from 180 donors. A large sum which, according to Stuart McDougall, testifies to the void left by his wife. “When you look at the GoFundMe page or anything on the internet, there are a lot of reactions. She touched a lot of people.”
