Money to invest? Good news, the rate of an emblematic bank book goes up

As of tomorrow, Friday July 1, the remuneration of the Livret Distingo de PSA Banque will go from 0.50% to 0.70%. Good news, which could call for others in the weeks to come.

Do you have cash to invest, as a precaution or while waiting to finance a project? Your Livret A and your LDDS are already on the ceiling? Good news, the rates of some bank books are starting to go up. This is the case, starting tomorrow, of one of the most interesting of them, the Livret Distingo, distributed for ten years by PSA Banque. The bank of the Stellantis automotive group (Peugeot, Citron, Opel, Fiat, etc.) announces that the remuneration of its savings product will be raised, starting Friday July 1, to 0.70% against 0.50% so far.

Since June 1, already, PSA Banque had revised the increase in its term accounts, which yields 0.80% over one year, 0.90% over 2 years and 1% over 3 years. In all cases, these are gross rates, ie before allocation of the single flat-rate levy (PFU).

At 0.70%, the Livret Distingo is positioned as the best bankbook on the market, on a par with the Cashbee passbook account, and very far ahead of the others: the average rate for bankbooks is only 0.04%.

These rates should, however, rise in the weeks and months to come, particularly in line with inflation. To curb the rise in prices, the European Central Bank has, in fact, announced an increase in its key rates for the month of July, which should take bank books with it. Their remuneration should also be pulled up by the Livret A, the rate of which should double again on August 1 to drop to 2% net.
