Monica Bellucci confided in her role as mother to her two daughters Deva and Léonie in an exclusive interview with Madame Figaro and published on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
While she will soon play Anita Ekberg at the cinema in The Girl in the Fountainby Antonguilio Panizzi, Monica Bellucci gave an interview to Madame Figaro. In an article published on Thursday, May 19, she discussed her role as a mother for her two daughters, Deva (17) and Léonie (12), born of her love with actor Vincent Cassel.
If Léonie is still at school, Deva has decided to launch herself into the professional world and make a career in fashion. Faced with this decision, the Italian actress tries to support her as best she can. “Being a mother is a gift of oneself, and even by trying to do the best, we cannot avoid mistakes. What is certain is that my daughters are the people who matter most in the world” she confided.
Monica Bellucci: “At home, we speak French, but we argue in Italian”.
Very close to her daughters, Monica Bellucci is grateful to have been able to tie strong ties with them by being present despite her busy career. She also explained about it:As I got them late, I was able to work less and devote time to them, even if sometimes, because of filming, I was not always there at the right time.“.
And if today the 57-year-old woman is divorced from Vincent Cassel, their daughters have been bathed throughout their childhood in two cultures. Monica Bellucci has also told about their upbringing: “Of course, I carry with me the Italian culture where the child is king, with the good and the bad sides. I am very protective. Eat well, sleep well… which they sometimes find a bit ‘boring’. Moreover, at home, we speak in French, but we argue in Italian!“. A real wealth for the two young girls who inherited artistic sensibility of their parents.
