Monk: the trailer for the film is here and it will make you feel a little old

Peacock has just revealed the trailer for the film Monk, which marks the return to our screens of the detective played by Tony Shalhoub.

We said goodbye to them fourteen years ago but they are back on our screens. The film Monk, derived from the eponymous series broadcast between 2002 and 2009 on TF1, is revealed in a first trailer which will bring back good memories to fans.

It was the American platform Peacock which organized this reunion, 14 years after the end of the series. In this TV special called Mr. Monk’s Last Case, the brilliant San Francisco detective with OCD played by Tony Shalhoub returns to solve one last case involving his beloved stepdaughter Molly, a journalist who is planning her wedding.

What a pleasure to see Monk’s team again on screen, made up of Traylor Howard (assistant Natalie), Jason Gray-Stanford (Randy Disher) and Ted Levine (Leland), who played the two investigators, or even his shrink Dr. Neven played by Hector Elizondo.

Even if they are all a little older (and so are we), we find in the trailer the same energy as in the series.

Obviously, the society in which the characters now live has changed a lot. The screenwriters were also inspired by COVID to enrich the script. And it seems that the pandemic has had a big impact on our hero, who is himself terrified of “germs, altitude, birds…” as Natalie recalls.

Mr Monk’s Last Case will be available in the USA from December 8. No date has been announced for France.
