Announced last September, Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion was unveiled at a Monster Hunter Digital Event.
Presented by Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of the Monster Hunter series, this Digital Event allowed us to discover a new trailer. This allows us to see thata new area will appear: the Citadel. Between forests and snow-capped mountains, this lush medieval fortress will bring you face to face with new, never-before-seen monsters:
- The Garangolma juggernaut with fangs, whose left arm is covered in moss and the right arm in magma, which will allow it to benefit from fire and water attacks when enraged.
- The Lunagaron, a fanged wyvern that can coat its body in ice for protection. Enraged, his claws will be his greatest asset.
- The Orange Bishaten, a subspecies of Bishaten. Rather than throwing fruit, the latter will throw explosive pine cones at you.
- The Astalosa flying wyvern that stores electricity in its horn, wings, and tail, making its charged attack devastating.
A new Hunter Rank will also be available: Master.
The extension will be available on June 30, 2022 but is already available for pre-order via the Nintendo eShop or Steam. Pre-ordering gets you special armor for Palico and Chumsky. A Deluxe version will also be sold, the latter offering special armor sets, emotes and hairstyles. Note that Sunbreak will require 13GB for the update. Make sure you have enough free space.
What’s more, 3 new amiibo inspired by the Monster Malzeno will also be released for the release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak which will allow you to buff special armor in-game.
Also on the occasion of the Digital Event Monster Hunter, Capcom has announced that it wants to help new players by giving them powerful items for free. to help them complete the quests. Among these, 14 types of “defender” weapons, the “Black Belt” hunter’s armor as well as the veteran’s talisman. Until March 25, new event quests and other content will go liveenough to prepare you for Sunbreak.
