Mordern Warfare 2, development seems to be accelerating

According to new information provided by Call of Duty insiders, 11 development studios including Treyarch are now working on CoD 2022. This is expected to be a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019.

The Call of Duty development cycle has seen its flow disrupted to some degree in recent years.

While Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, and Infinity Ward typically produce annual titles on a three-year cycle, Vanguard issues caused Treyarch to release Black Ops Cold War at the last minute.

While Black Ops 4 was developed a few years earlier.

Although Activision has yet to confirm there is a sequel to Modern Warfare. All the leaks and rumors point to it being a sequel to the 2019 title. The action is set to take place as part of a war against Colombian drug cartels.

Modern Warfare 2 would most likely be the Call of Duty of 2022.

Modern Warfare 2 “Everyone on the bridge”

Today, new details emerged about the Modern Warfare II development team.

Indeed, reputable CoD insiders claim that a total of 11 studios are working on the 2022 title, including longtime CoD developer Treyarch.

Infinity Ward, as usual with CoD development cycles, should be the lead studio.

On January 27, leaker RalphsValve said that 11 studios are working on developing Modern Warfare II: Demonware; High Moon Studios; Toys for Bob; Infinity Ward Austin, TX; Infinity Ward Poland; Infinity Ward, LA; Beenox; Activision; Raven Software; Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch.

Regarding Treyarch’s involvement, Ralph said it was an “everyone on deck” case.

Some feared that Treyarch’s involvement was a sign of a potential poor state of development. Still, Ralph allayed those worries by saying: “Circumstances are different it was described to me earlier as a once in a generation title, which is why all of Activision’s studios are involved in the development of the game. Things are moving along smoothly”.

His claims were corroborated by Tom Henderson, who leaked plenty of details regarding Warzone and CoD 2022.

As always, a lot can change during the development process.

Details regarding CoD 2022 should therefore be taken with great suspicion until Activision officially confirms them.
