At 79, Michel Drucker has seen many people dear to his heart disappear… On April 18, 2003, the host’s brother, Jean, died at the age of 61 following an asthma attack in Mollégès, in the Bouches-du-Rhône. We were almost twins. I see life differently. I feel more and more alone.“In recent years, the star has lost many friends, such as Charles Aznavour, Guy Bedos, Daniel Balavoine, Michel Berger and Johnny Hallyday.

In November 2021, for yahoo he confessed to thinking more and more about death. “When I was in the hospital for almost a year, I saw Christophe leave, I saw Brasseur leave, I saw Bedos leave, I saw Annie Cordy leave, I saw Pierre leave Cardin, I saw Juliette Gréco leave… All these people, they are people I have received ten times on my shows, which makes me feel like I am a bit of an orphan, because there aren’t many of us anymore, and we are no longer numerous to have known them as I have known them“, he had declared. Moved, Michel Drucker had added: “I’m going to find them, we’re going to do a hot TV show. So I tell myself that if I ever put the weapon to the left, I cross the mirror, I will perhaps have the enormous surprise of finding Romy Schneider, Mireille Darc and Jean Gabin.“
