  • Mortal Kombat 1 is said to offer a crossplay function.
  • However, this feature will only be available after release.
  • There are currently no details about cross-platform saves.

The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is just a few days away. The fighting game will be released on September 19th for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. If you have pre-ordered the Premium or Collector’s Edition, you will get access to the game on September 14th.

While it was previously unclear whether the upcoming fighting game would offer crossplay, there is now official news about it. As Mortal Kombat’s X account (formerly Twitter) reports, there will initially be no crossplay function.

Cross-play and cross-progression

However, the emphasis is on “at the beginning”, as the development studio apparently plans to add this function after publication. However, an exact date for the implementation of the crossplay function has not yet been set.

There is also currently no information as to whether Mortal Kombat 1 supports cross-platform saves. Netherrealm Studios may reveal more detailed information as soon as there is news about crossplay.
