A total of 308 people died in a road accident in mainland France in October 2023, a toll up 4% compared to the same month of the previous year (297 killed), Road Safety announced on Thursday. .
This is the second consecutive month that an increase in road mortality has been recorded, after nine months of decline. The number of serious injuries is stable over one year, 1,468 in October, the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory (ONISR) detailed in a press release. The police recorded a total of 5,127 road traffic accidents, i.e. 8% more than in October 2022.
