Moselle: a couple found dead, the trail of murder by spouse considered


An investigation for “murder by spouse” was opened, after the discovery this Friday March 18 of an elderly couple who died at their home in Ariance, between Metz and Saint-Avold, in Moselle.

“An investigation for murder by spouse has been opened”, indicated the prosecutor of the Republic of Metz Yves Badorc, and confirming information from the Republican Lorrain.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the homicide would have been “followed by a suicide a priori, it is the privileged hypothesis at this stage of the investigations”.

Early Friday evening, the couple, a 75-year-old woman and her 64-year-old husband, were found dead at their home after a relative became concerned, he said, without giving further details. on the circumstances of the deaths.

According to the Republican Lorrain, the woman was in bed and her recently retired husband was found hanged. Forensic examinations are scheduled for the start of the week in Nancy.

A flagrant investigation for aggravated murder by a spouse was entrusted to the Boulay-Moselle research brigade.
