Friday afternoon in Algrange, Moselle, a man went to a hairdressing salon and shot the manager and her toddler, tell our colleagues from the Republican Lorrain. There were no clients at the time of the shooting.

The victims

The manager of the salon, a woman in her twenties, suffered injuries to the cheek and her child to the head. Despite her injuries, the mother drove her little boy to a nearby pizzeria. He was transported by helicopter to the Nancy hospital center between life and death. The mother is out of danger.

The suspect then went to Florange, a neighboring town, to an apartment of one of his acquaintances, who had sold him the weapon, and tried to end his life. Without success. He was also hospitalized.

Investigation

According to the first elements of the investigation, the suspect is the ex-spouse of the manager of the hairdressing salon and mother of the 3-year-old child. Our colleagues from the Lorraine Republican assures us that he would also be the father of the child. He is 27 years old.

The context

According to one of his deputies to the mayor of Algrange, Yvon Bonaldo, responsible in particular for security issues and who went there, the mother of the child was in the process of separation from her spouse.

The mother had been running the hairdressing salon since December 7, the town hall said.
