Ducati rider Jorge Martin secures victory in a competitive MotoGP race in Thailand and continues to put the world championship leader under pressure.

As in the sprint on Saturday, Jorge Martin was also able to celebrate in the race on Sunday at the GP Thailand. In contrast to the start-finish victory from the previous day, this time the Spaniard had to fight hard for his success.

The pole setter fended off several attacks from Brad Binder on his Ducati. The South African KTM rider passed Martin more than once, but with 2 laps to go the Spaniard regained the lead and took home his 4th win of the season.

World Cup lead is melting

In the end, Binder was only left with 3rd place because he was moved back one position due to exceeding the track limits. World Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) improved from 6th starting position to 2nd place in Buriram. However, his lead over Martin continues to shrink, it is now 13 points and the World Championship battle is extremely exciting with 3 races to go.

Moto2 decision has not yet been made

In Moto2, the world championship decision was postponed: Fermin Aldeguer (Boscoscuro) took his second career victory ahead of world championship leader Pedro Acosta. For the Spanish Kalex pilot, a 4th place in the next race in two weeks is enough to secure the title.

Meanwhile, rookie David Alonso (GasGas) took his 4th win of the season in Moto3. Taiyo Furusato (Honda) and Collin Veijer (Husqvarna) completed the podium, while World Championship leader Jauma Masia (Honda) was only left with 4th place after a late mistake. The World Cup decision therefore remains open.
