Mozartkugel rescue – Salzburg Schokolade will continue to operate

The continuation of the business was discussed today at the Salzburg regional court in the first insolvency proceedings against Salzburg Scholoade GmbH. The production of the Mozartkugel and chocolate from Grödig is secured for the next few weeks. An Austrian bank is providing Salzburg Schokolade with financial support.

Breathe a sigh of relief from the employees at Salzburg Schokolade in Grödig. In the first session of the insolvency proceedings at the Salzburg Regional Court, it became known that the chocolate producer was able to secure operations for the next few weeks with the help of a local bank. Solvency was restored through the support of the bank. Employees are also paid November salary and Christmas bonuses. This is done through the insolvency fund. The next few weeks will show in more detail how things will continue in the new year. The Kreditschutzverband von 1870 (KSV) reported that rationalization measures of an operational nature should be implemented. It still remains to be seen in the case of work organization measures. According to KSV, an immediate closure would have far worse consequences for all creditors than continuing for at least the next four to six weeks. A renovation with support from a third party, probably with the help of an investor, would appear, subject to the procedure and information from this, as realistic from today’s perspective, according to the KSV.
