(AOF) – Forsee Power, the expert in smart battery systems for sustainable electromobility and MTB Transit Solutions (one of North America’s leading bus repair and refurbishment specialists) announce their retrofit partnership buses in North America. Forsee Power will supply battery systems to MTB to convert diesel buses into electric vehicles. The first retrofit project in Canada was launched last month by the city of Milton which announced its electric bus program appointing MTB to convert part of its fleet.
MTB selected Forsee Zen 16 Slim an ultra-thin battery system – the world’s thinnest at launch – only 135mm high that can fit in a very limited space. The battery packs, of 16 kWh each, offer excellent energy density and a very long life for a very low total cost of ownership.
The battery systems will integrate with the 2017 Nova Bus LFS, a transit bus widely used in North America.

German autonomy not so simple
China has been Germany’s leading economic partner for six years. However, across the Rhine, companies are called upon to reduce their heavy dependence on the Asian giant due to a rise in geopolitical tensions with the country. In this context, the powerful VDMA points out the importance of the Chinese market and the danger that a too sudden termination of ties with China would represent. The country is, in fact, the second export market and the first investment destination for German mechanical and industrial engineering. The federation nevertheless recognizes the need to diversify the trading partners of the German economy.
