At the Diamond League meeting in Monaco, Mujinga Kambundji (picture) is not entirely happy with her time of 22.75 seconds over 200 meters. The fourth place behind top shots like Miller-Uibo, Ta Lou and Fraser-Price confirms that the course is right for the Olympics.
Pole jumper Angelica Moser can also practice for Tokyo in Monaco – she jumps 4.50 meters, but does not make the 20 centimeter increase to 4.70 meters. The 4.90 meters skipped by winner Katie Nageotte (USA) are good object lesson for Moser.
World record just missed
One week after his 400 meter hurdles world record in Oslo (46.70), Karsten Warholm (No) cannot be beaten at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco either. With 47.08 seconds he hits another top time on the track. In contrast to Warholm, Holland’s marvelous runner Sifan Hassan is demystified in a world record 1500 meter race.
The smaller Faith Kipyegon (Ken) cannot be shaken off, Hassan sprints dizzy on the home straight and misses the world record of Genzebe Dibaba (Äth) with 3: 51.07 minutes by exactly one second.
