Mulan: Fans need to be patient

The live action remake of "Mulan" is still a long time coming. Due to the corona pandemic, Disney is postponing the theatrical release again.

Disney announced on Friday that the theatrical release of the live action remake "Mulan" will be postponed again. The new start date is now in August. The studio cites the continuing rampant corona pandemic as the reason.

Postponement due to Covid-19

"Mulan" was originally supposed to celebrate its world premiere at the end of March. However, due to the cinemas being closed due to the corona virus, Disney postponed the start to the end of July, which was scheduled for July 23, 2020. This procedure is repeated again: the film is pushed back by one month, August 21 is now the official start date in the USA. There is no new start date for Germany yet.

In a statement quoted by several US media, it says: "Director Niki Caro, the cast and the entire crew have created a beautiful, epic and moving film that is all that the cinematic experience should be and we believe that's where it belongs – on the world stage and the big screens for a global audience.
