Michael J. Fox has suffered multiple fractures over the past few months. But he is on the mend.

The past few months have not been good for “Back to the Future” star Michael J. Fox (61). In September, he not only had to say goodbye to his 92-year-old mother Phyllis. Fox, who has suffered from Parkinson’s for many years and who ended his acting career in 2020, has also broken several bones, like him told in an interview with the US magazine “People”..

Among other things, Fox broke his hand and shoulder, then he had a new shoulder put in and he also broke his arm and then his elbow. “I’m 61 years old and I feel that a little more,” says the actor.

“I was never really a moody guy”

According to the report, while Parkinson’s disease affects his movements, he also contracted an infection after undergoing surgery on his broken hand. The fact that he could not use his hand eventually led to problems with his balance, which caused him to fall several times.

All of this affected his mood as well. “I’ve never really been a moody guy, but I did get very moody and short with people,” Fox says. But he tried to counteract that. The 61-year-old works with helpers and he often says to them: “Whatever I say, just imagine that I said ‘please’ at the beginning and ‘thank you’ at the end.” You should imagine that he could have said it “if I were more myself, but I didn’t, so I apologize”.

“Don’t Fall”

He’s doing better now. The last of his injuries are just healing. The big “mission” is now: “Don’t fall down.” Therefore, he is not afraid to use a walker, cane, wheelchair or even human help. Fox is slowly getting to a point where he can walk safely on his own again.

“It was a struggle, but I’m happy,” says the actor today. Fox says this because he hopes people can find happiness no matter what they’re going through. Fans could possibly get a deeper insight into his life and the many setbacks he has had to overcome in recent years in 2023. As Fox confirms, a documentary about him will appear on Apple TV+ next year. But he can’t or doesn’t want to reveal too much: “It’s about me and many different ways of looking at my life.”
