Nadja Auermann looks back with pride on her career as a supermodel in the nineties. Today, however, their happiness is far from the flash.

Nadja Auermann (50) may have largely withdrawn from the limelight. With her hard-earned reputation as a top model in the 1990s, she can still boast today. Rightly so, as it had recently impressively demonstrated at the Cannes Film Festival. For one of her rare appearances on the red carpet, Auermann appeared in an elegant two-piece suit consisting of trousers and a jacket in 2019. Nothing special, one might think. If it weren't for the fact that the model was stark naked under the jacket, which was worn openly. Skill is skilful.

The fashion world has been taken by storm

Auermann's career began in 1990. As a high school graduate, the Berlin native was discovered in a café. Then everything happened very quickly. Just one year later, she was standing in front of Ellen von Unwerth's (67) lens, graced the cover of British "Vogue" and immediately called Paris her new home. This was followed by an appearance in George Michael's (1963-2016) music video for "Too Funky" and the honor of being allowed to grace the front page of the US American "Vogue". It was only a matter of time before the big fashion houses around the world became aware of the girl from Berlin.

Girl? Internationally sought-after top model was more likely to hit it. Auermann ran for well-known houses such as Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Versace. Fashion czar Karl Lagerfeld (1933-2019) was also able to convince her. The fact that Auermann could even be found in the Guinness Book of Records as the model with the longest legs at the time certainly didn't detract from her success. If you are looking for model icons of the 1990s, you cannot avoid the 1.80 meter tall blonde.

The greatest happiness waited away from the headlights

What did Auermann do differently in contrast to her famous German colleagues Claudia Schiffer (50) and Heidi Klum (47)? Over the years, she left the modeling business behind. After the turn of the millennium she concentrated more and more on acting and was seen in her first leading role in the 2004 television film "Sleeping Beauty's quiet death". Most recently, the TV audience was able to look forward to seeing them again on the screen in 2018 when the model mimed an uncomfortable designer in the comedy "Discover the Mandy in you".

Auermann did not celebrate any great success as an actress. Anyway, the question arises whether she would have needed this at all? The top model seems to have found the greatest happiness in her family today. Daughter Cosima comes from her relationship with media manager Olaf Björn Tietz, her marriage to actor Wolfram Grandezka (51, "Forbidden Love") crowned son Nicolas. With her current partner, whose name she strictly keeps out of the public eye, Auermann has two more daughters.

50th birthday in the "small family circle"

The mother of four told the magazine "Bunte" in 2013, the year her youngest daughter was born: "We lead a completely normal family life with me as a housewife and mother." Of course she is proud of what she has achieved in her life. However, she does not cry after the past. "It is more important to me to live in the here and now," said Auermann at the time.

Upon request, the news agency spot on news learned that the top model was staying true to his withdrawn lifestyle even on his special day. Auermann will celebrate her 50th birthday on March 19th "in a small and familiar family circle".
