Was leaving National Education the only solution for Sam?
Natacha Lindinger: No, but she has come to the end. She has the impression of being misunderstood, constantly judged, of making mistakes. She felt it was better to stop.
How is she approaching her new life?
She has quit her job which she adores, her children have left home, she no longer has a boyfriend because she has given up marrying her childhood friend. And she has no more money. She is forcibly pulled into the countryside for a birthday when it gets her down. But it will bounce back as usual, awkwardly. It was enjoyable to play this season, moreover.
Strong-tempered heroines are all the rage, like your character and the one by Audrey Fleurot in HPI. How to explain it?
We spent a lot of years with positive heroes and heroines, good cops, guardian angels … so that people could have positive entertainment. Today, we dare to go towards irreverent heroes. But it’s a cycle, in five or ten years we’ll be fed up.
Is season 7 already in writing?
Yes, a writing that begins, like every year. We have always worked like that with production and TF1, which means that we do things one by one. I never signed for ten years, we always said to ourselves: “We shoot, we write and we see if everyone likes it.”
For 2022, where are you going?
I just finished season 2 of The flame, the Canal + series produced by Jonathan Cohen. I loved shooting it, it’s wacky and quirky. I want to invest myself in a character and in a project, not to be a puppet and redo things that I have already done ten times.
Would you like to join the soap operas of the channel Tomorrow belongs to us Where Here it all begins ?
No, but that’s not a review! I have trouble with the idea of recurrence on a series. It’s reassuring for an actor to know that he has work regularly, but I find that anxiety-provoking. It feels like it can never stop. I want isolated projects where I will have fun with the character.
What is your life off the shelf?
My off-set life is up to me. I don’t really want to tell anyone about myself …
