Suffered from lung cancer, Jean-Pierre Pernaut can count on the support of his two children, but also of his wife. Married to the presenter of TF1 since 2007, Nathalie Marquay has always been very caring for him. Being ill, the former Miss France redoubles its efforts to preserve his health. This Saturday, December 4, the couple from the small screen opened the doors of their privacy to the cameras of 50’Inside, on TF1. The opportunity for the mother of a family to reveal her little anecdotes to take care of her husband: “I said to him: ‘You have to manage to stop, to sit down, to take naps’. I make him little ginger herbal teas for his cough.”, she said, under the tender gaze of the journalist.
But it was impossible for Jean-Pierre Pernaut to stop working completely, despite his wife’s advice. For now, the former presenter of the 1 p.m. news is following radiation therapy sessions, scheduled until January 2022. “The body needs to rest, that’s part of the healing”, said Nathalie Marquay. The 71-year-old journalist should listen carefully to his reprimands since it has already saved his life thanks to it. “One day she said to me ‘go see a cardiologist, there is something wrong.’ I am in great shape and I discover two hours later at the cardiologist that I should have been dead “, he said in 50’Inside.
Premonitions and rituals
Passionate about the world of the paranormal, Nathalie Marquay even thinks she is connected with the afterlife. “I absolutely do not believe it at the start, and it’s true that when you live with Nathalie, there are premonitory things that are a little surprising. Or forebodings”, Tom and Lou’s father said. Miss France 1987 even dedicated a book to it, entitled I believe it. Thanks to this precious gift, the 54-year-old mother saved her husband’s life on several occasions, according to her: “I am his little fairy”, she clarified.
