National Championships – Athletics: Five records tumbled!

At the Carinthian indoor championships for track and field athletes in the sports park, there were five new national records. Sprint rocket Laura Zechner (Feldkirchen) ran over 50 meters to gold, and there were four new records in the youngsters.

“The athletes trained well and were able to deliver right away – that makes me feel positive,” says KLV President Albert Gitschthaler after a corona break of more than a year. Laura Zechner won over 50 meters with a new national record in 6.57 seconds. Best times over the sprint distance Dominik Hanschitz (Völkermarkt) won the men’s race in 6.27 seconds. Stephan Pacher (Völkermarkt/U 20), Vasily Klimov (KLC/U 18) and Julian Hackl (LAC/U 16) also set three new best times over the sprint distance. New national record Elisabeth Bluch (LAC/ U20) in the triple jump with 11.47 meters. Philipp Plattner (KLC) won the title in the general class with a personal best of 13.18 meters. Günther Gasper (LAC) won the high jump with 1.60 meters.
