The Covid-19 pandemic in Francecase

All the national public education federations are calling for a strike this Thursday, in a “white day”. A unit of the educational community “exceptional”, according to the historian of education Claude Lelièvre, who considers that Jean-Michel Blanquer did not “measure the exasperation of the staff”.

Over the days, the list of National Education federations calling for a strike on Thursday has continued to grow. The wildfire even reached the heads of establishments and inspectors, known to usually stay away from this kind of social movement. Ignoring their disagreements, all the public federations responded, supported by nurses, several private unions and parents of students. The FCPE joined the action on Monday by calling on parents not to send their children to school and to sanctify a “white day”. Submerged by the omicron wave, the educational community intends to voice its dissatisfaction with a feeble protocol in the form of a weather vane, a chaotic management of teacher absences, a crying lack of resources and an underlying contempt. Education historian Claude Lelièvre returns to this unanimous call “historical”.
