Lausanne gets a hard-fought 1-0 win against Davos and improves to a direct playoff place.

Lausanne’s victory was deserved. It wasn’t until the 25th minute that Michael Hügli took the long-overdue lead for Lausanne after a rebound. Also because the second worst power play in the league was once again unsuccessful in three power plays, it remained exciting until the end.

The HCD failed to get up to speed in the second game in French-speaking Switzerland within 24 hours of the successful guest appearance in Geneva. The Graubünden team had already recorded significantly fewer shots than their opponents on Wednesday, but there was a lack of efficiency against Lausanne. Goalie Kevin Pasche also showed another strong performance.

Second shutout for Lausanne’s substitute keeper

The 20-year-old replacement for the injured regular goalkeeper Connor Hughes had to fend off “only” 23 shots for his second shutout in only his fourth National League game – most of them in the final third. But Graubünden’s final spurt came too late. With their success, the Vaudois climbed to 6th place and closed the gap to Davos to within one point.
