Naya Rivera: Her disappearance is "a mystery to the police"

The actress Naya Rivera is missing after a boat trip. The circumstances of her disappearance are "a mystery" to the police.

The US actress Naya Rivera (33) has been missing since Wednesday. The police are currently assuming that the former "Glee" star drowned on a boat trip on Lake Piru. The exact circumstances of Rivera's disappearance are still unclear, however. You can't really say "what really happened," Kevin Ventoghue police of Ventura County, California told People magazine. "We just don't know, it's a mystery." At the moment there is not enough information.

According to her four-year-old son, who was found alone in a rented boat on the lake, Rivera had jumped into the water and no longer appeared. The boy is said to have been unharmed. The search for the actress was "complicated" because of the conditions in the lake, Donoghue previously said at a press conference. Visibility is "terrible" for divers looking for Rivera. "If the body is involved in something under the water, it may never show up."

The police keep looking

The police are still looking for Rivera and contradicting rumors that it may have been suicide. "We spoke to her son and there is no evidence that it could have been suicide," Donoghue said. Everything indicates that Rivera's disappearance is the result of an accident.
