NCIS: Mark Harmon (Gibbs) has earned a small fortune thanks to the series

For 19 seasons, Mark Harmon camped Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the detective series “NCIS: Special Investigations”. A now iconic role that has allowed the actor to earn a pretty fortune.

When it comes to American television icon, Mark Harmon easily tops the list. For nearly two decades, the actor camped the iconic Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS: Special Investigations, one of the longest series in the history of American television.

If the actor left fiction in 2021 during season 19, he still continues to be an integral part of the adventure since he has kept his place as executive producer.

Thanks to his role in NCIS, Mark Harmon has gradually become a real star of the small screen, which has allowed him over the years to amass a pretty small fortune. Contrary to what many might think, the comedian has never been TV’s highest paid actor (although he’s once made the top 5), but he’s certainly not the most pitiful comedian.

With his $525,000 per episode, Mark Harmon was indeed beaten hands down by Kevin Costner and his $1 million per episode for Yellowstone, a series he decided to leave after 5 years at the helm.

But what makes the difference for Mark Harmon is that he starred in 24 episodes per season, a total of $12.6 million per year according to information from Hello Magazine. A sum that he therefore earned for nearly 19 years.

If the actor was not the highest paid actor, cumulatively, he earned a lot of money, and can now live very comfortably. Mark Harmon would indeed have a fortune which would amount to 120 million dollars (more than 100 million euros).

Mark Harmon back in NCIS?

In an interview with Hello Magazine last February, Rocky Carroll, the interpreter of Leon Vance in NCIS, confided that Mark Harmon could return to NCIS. “We could see Gibbs again“, he explained before adding: “I think as long as this show is on the air, there’s always going to be this possibility that we might see Gibbs again..”

In the bonus features of the Season 19 DVD, Mark Harmon also said he was not “retired”. “The character still lives in Alaska as far as I know”. A way to leave the door open to a possible return by the end of the series? The suspense remains intact.

Find the final episode of season 20 of NCIS this Saturday July 22 from 9:10 p.m. on M6.
