According to civil defense, 73 bodies were recently recovered from a mass grave in the Gaza Strip near the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. Since the withdrawal of Israeli troops, a total of 283 dead have been found there, said the authority controlled by the Islamist Hamas. According to a spokesman, 200 bodies had been dug up on the hospital grounds in the three days since Saturday alone. The information has not yet been independently verified. It was unclear whether the bodies were of Hamas fighters or civilians. When asked, the Israeli army said it was examining the report.
Israeli soldiers entered the hospital in the south of the Gaza Strip in February. According to the army, soldiers also killed people in the area around the clinic who they classified as terrorist suspects.
