License Avatar: The Last Airbender of Nickelodeon is still going strong after all these years and last year was again treated to a game on consoles and PC, subtitled Quest for Balance. After a feature film live-action by M. Night Shyamalan in 2010, the experiment was tried again, but this time by Netflix. It won’t be long before we can discover the result since the 8 episodes of this live action remake will be posted online on February 22, 2024, retracing the Book One: Water. A first teaser was released last November, which you can find below and which was already very promising.
This week, it’s a long trailer forAvatar: The Last Airbender who came to delight us. Indeed, between the special effects, the choreography and the events depicted, the respect for the original material seems to be there, which should please fans of the cartoon. We will therefore follow the adventures of Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawenti:io Tarbell), Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Appa the flying bisonwhich will be continued by the Fire Nation and in particular the prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) accompanied by his uncle the general Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee).
Among the many well-known characters who will be present, we find for example the bounty hunter June (Arden Cho), the warrior Kyoshi Suki (Maria Zhang), the lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yu) and Commander Zhao (Ken Leung). New ones were also created for the occasion, like the mother of Sukibaptized Yukari. You can find part of the cast through promotional posters on the following page.
In the past, when the Avatar who mastered the four elements ensured peace between the nations of the world, they lived in harmony. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, marking the first phase of the firebenders’ conquest of the world.
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER follows a young air nomad named Aang, who wakes up in a world ravaged by war. With his new friends Sokka and Katara, he embarks on an epic journey full of twists and turns to take his rightful place as the next Avatar.
