For his new project for Netflix, entitled “The Undertow”, Irish actor Jamie Dornan will play not one but two roles!
After starring opposite Gal Gadot in the action film Agent Stone – released in August 2023 – actor Jamie Dornan is once again collaborating with Netflix for a series, entitled The Undertow. This project is an adaptation of a Norwegian fiction by Kristoffer Metcalfe, Twin, released in 2019.
Two Jamie Dornans for the price of one
For the purposes of this series, Jamie Dornan will play twins, Adam and Lee. The story will follow the anxiety-ridden marriage of Adam and Nicola – played by Mackenzie Davis. The couple’s daily life is turned upside down when Adam’s twin brother, Lee, arrives in their lives. What the husband doesn’t know is that his brother once had an affair with his wife. Very quickly, the past comes to destroy the present.
This remake seems to take several liberties with the original version. In Twin, the wife kills her husband by accident and manages to convince his twin brother to take his place.
The media Deadline informs that filming is expected to begin in the Highlands, a particularly cinematic mountainous region in Scotland, later this year.
This is obviously not the first time that an actor has played twins. Recently, actress Rachel Weisz took on this perilous but exciting exercise in the series Faux Semblants, a remake of the David Cronenberg film in which Jeremy Irons also played brothers.
