Netflix: this hit Spanish series is perfect for romantics

Notice to sensitive souls and romantics, Netflix has posted a Spanish series in the vein of Normal People which is a hit. Here’s what you need to know about Every Time We Loved Each Other.

It’s been available since Valentine’s Day on Netflix and it should appeal to all blue flower people. The series Every time we loved each other comes straight from Spain and it has already won over many romantics since it quickly rose to the top of the platform’s viewings. Here’s what you need to know about this series.

What is it about ?

Since their meeting, Irene and Julio have not stopped falling in love, breaking up and trying to give each other a chance. Will they finally succeed one day in being happy?

A Spanish romantic series à la Normal People

Between the (too) many seasons of Élite, its co-creator Carlos Montero has worked on a brand new romantic series. Far from the sassy and trashy atmosphere of the adventures of the high school students of Las Encinas, Every time we loved each other is much more about telling a moving, tragic and passionate sentimental relationship between two kindred spirits.

Available on Netflix since February 14, this series in eight episodes is perfect for Valentine’s Day and all those who are in love at this time. Every time we loved each other tells the romance between Irene and Julio over twenty years in the manner of Normal People, which upset series lovers with the love story of Marianne and Connell.

Taking up certain aspects of the aesthetics of the Irish series (and in particular the main actors with similar physique), Every time we loved each other is a succession of different encounters, separations and reunions that have marked the relationship between Irene and Julio. It all started in September 2003 when Irene moved to Madrid ready to take on the world by taking film courses at university to become a director.

She makes friends very quickly, including Julio, a law student, who would be perfect as a leading role in her films… and in her life. But this one has other plans for her, especially since she is still in a relationship with Fernando, her childhood sweetheart.

Every time we loved each other is a tender series that uses the codes of romantic comedy to divert them and have fun while respecting its basic foundations. This new creation by Carlos Montero is a pleasant surprise imbued with a gentle melancholy and a profoundness that dissects the friendly and loving feelings that hatch during these pivotal years in the life of a young adult, who is looking for his place in the world.

The series can also count on a pleasant and involved cast with Georgina Amorós in the lead, known for her role as Cayetana in Élite. This romantic comedy is also worth for its tasty secondary roles camped by colorful actors, in particular Carlos González (who plays Da), and for its main actor Franco Masini with whom his partner has a good dose of chemistry.

The series Every Time We Loved Each Other is available on Netflix.
