Netflix Trailer: Mr. Robot Creator Previews His New Paranoid Thriller Starring Julia Roberts

Netflix has just revealed the first images of The World After Us, a drama adapted by Sam Esmail (Mr Robot) and carried by Julia Roberts.

The end of the year will be busy on Netflix. In December, Netflix subscribers will be spoiled with the blockbuster Rebel Moon, the series derived from La Casa de Papel Berlin and The World After Us, which is revealed in a first trailer.

The film adapted from Rumaan Alam’s novel of the same name by Sam Esmail (Mr Robot) follows Amanda and her husband Clay as they rent a luxurious house for a weekend with their children. But their vacation is soon interrupted by the arrival, in the middle of the night, of two strangers who say they are at home and talk about a mysterious cyberattack. Faced with an imminent disaster, which becomes more and more terrifying by the minute, everyone will have to find their place in a world in full collapse.

The first images are as enticing as they are intriguing. What is this threat that weighs? What role do they have to play in this matter? At first glance, The World After Us is a classic post-apocalyptic thriller. But Rumaan Alam readers know that this dystopia is not really a dystopia. The author uses the genre to tell a more human story. While these two families must live together without knowing what is happening outside, doubt, fear and panic gradually creep into their heads. Everything then comes down to a personal level…

Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon are in the cast of this event film expected on Netflix on December 8.
