The Mexican filmmaker’s first animated feature is expected for the 2022 holiday season.

The little puppet who dreams of becoming a little boy will be doubly the event this year on streaming platforms.

Guillermo Del Toro and Netflix give us an appointment next Christmas

After the live-action film adapted from the Disney animation classic and distributed exclusively on Disney+, it will therefore be Guillermo Del Toro’s turn to offer us his own reading of the Italian tale.

For this first incursion into the animation genre, Del Toro chose the stop-motion technique – i.e. figurines animated frame by frame to recreate movement – which fits perfectly with the theme developed by Pinocchio.

These first images show us the look of Sebastian J. Cricket, the conscience of our little wooden puppet who will be doubled by Ewan McGregor. In the casting we will also find Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz or Ron Perlman, a faithful of the director who had lent his features to Hellboy in the first two films devoted to the character.

It will now be necessary to be patient to discover more about the universe imagined by Guillermo Del Toro as well as the final design of Pinocchio since the film will not be available until December 2022, exclusively on Netflix.

  • The most complete on the market
  • Truly excellent original series
  • Impeccable video compression

The American service is not the most popular in the world for nothing. With a content offer enriched every week, always optimal video quality and a very refined user experience, the platform is an essential choice for entertainment. Our only regret remains the constant increase in subscription prices, which makes the service a little less attractive than when it was launched… Fortunately, the number of series and films compensates for this increase.
