The TCL 65C935, successor to the 65C825, should be the brand’s new spearhead in 2022. This television will feature a VA panel supporting a refresh rate of 144 Hz like the Samsung Neo QLED, but also a backlight system Mini-LED made up of several thousand zones. This model will also benefit from a new optical filter to reduce ambient light reflections. The device will support all HDR formats (HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision) in addition to HDMI 2.1, VRR, eARC, 4K/120Hz and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro features.

TCL will also market the C835 and C735 models, mid-range televisions compatible with HDMI 2.1 and equipped with 144 Hz panels. The C835 should retain a Mini-Led backlight system with fewer zones than the C935, while the C735 will will be satisfied – like the TCL 55C728 that we tested – with a basic Direct Led backlighting system. This 2022 range will have the Google TV interface on an Android 11 base with its set of applications (Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc.).

The full range of TCL TVs will be unveiled later this year. The manufacturer has also confirmed that it will not market QD-Oled models in 2022. This technology is still too expensive and TCL does not yet have enough legitimacy in the very high-end segment.
