New 99ers coach – Long time in the queue – now the coach is fixed!

In Graz there were already more than just rumors about his return – now everything is wrapped up! Harry Lange will take over as coach of the ice hockey bottom team in the ICEHL and lead the “99ers 2.0”. The former Graz figurehead is celebrating a comeback at home after 13 years in his second home, Germany.

There had been speculation about his commitment for a long time – now, for many, Harry Lange is back where he belongs! In Graz. “I will always be from Graz, this will remain the center of my life even after ice hockey,” the Klagenfurt native once said in an interview during his time in Germany. At his last stop in Bad Nauheim – where Harry thrilled the fans as a player as well as as a sports director and coach – the 99ers got a detailed picture of his work. The decision for Lange – who sensationally led the Hessians to the final of the second German league and made the jump to the coaching staff of the Austrian A team – fell quickly. “Harry plays exactly the kind of hockey we want to see in Graz. His character also fits the club perfectly – especially with his past!” says new sports director Philipp Pinter. During his active time from 2004 to 2011, Lange, who also wore the “C” of the 99ers captain, won the hearts of the fans and remained loyal to the club even in tough times. Now there is a Dacapo. Lange signs a contract for two years on the 99ers bench. Much to the delight of President Herbert Jerich. “Our dream coach has agreed, I’m very happy!”
