Among the current good deals in terms of mobile telephony, there is the B&You 100 GB offer at 11.99 euros per month. This no-obligation plan offers unlimited calls, SMS and MMS in mainland France, with 100 GB of 5G data in France and 25 GB in Europe/DOM. This is a great offer from Bouygues Telecom on paper.
However, reading the fine print. We may be in for a nasty surprise. By default, if you exceed 100 GB of data in the month, or 25 GB in Europe/DOM, you trigger an out-of-package from France at 10 euros per additional GB, within the limit of 40 euros, or 1, 8 euros per additional GB in Europe (still within the limit of 40 euros). If you don’t pay attention, the bill can be hefty at the end of the month.
Fortunately, a simple configuration can avoid this risk.
How to avoid out-of-package at B&You
In your online customer area, Bouygues Telecom should offer you a “I manage my consumption” menu. It takes other names depending on the page, but it refers to the same options.
Then choose the menu “ Manage my Data consumption mode “. Here, Bouygues Telecom will offer you the choice between two options. Or, the default, where you can continue to use the Internet “without speed reduction” at the price of an extra package on the bill. Or, the one that generally interests consumers, the possibility of switching to reduced speed at the end of the data envelope.
Note that nothing prevents you from going back at any time or from optionally subscribing to an additional data envelope. We therefore strongly recommend that you choose this option.
