PARIS (Reuters) – The Paris police chief on Monday issued a new decree on the compulsory wearing of masks in public spaces after the cancellation last week by the administrative court of a previous text.
The new decree thus lists “a series of circumstances and places in which the population density does not guarantee, without wearing a mask, the proper respect for barrier gestures”, explains the prefecture in a press release.
This list includes, among other things, markets, all gatherings of at least ten people, bus stops, areas around train stations, entrances to shopping centers during opening hours, schools and universities during opening hours and outings or even places of worship during services.
Similar decrees are taken in each of the departments of the Île-de-France region, specifies the press release.
On Thursday, the Paris administrative court had suspended the initial decree of the prefect of police on the obligation to wear a mask outdoors on the grounds that it infringed individual freedoms.
