Contrary to what we could have initially imagined, there will be no update of theiMac in 2023.

In March 2021, Apple abandoned production of the iMac Pro. Launched in 2017, this machine with a 27-inch 5K screen, halfway between the iMac and the Mac Pro, has since never been reinstated in the Apple product range.

However, for more than a year now, the various rumors have converged towards the imminent arrival of a high-end iMac equipped with the M3 chip. If the latter has finally given us his news, we will nevertheless have to be patient.

24-inch iMac review pushed back to next year

At Apple, everything does not seem to be going as planned in recent weeks. While the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air M3 will not ultimately be released until next year, everything now suggests that the same will be true for the new 24-inch iMac. As a reminder, it has now been more than two years that generally well-informed people have been talking about the arrival of a revision of the iMac.

According to the latest information shared by Ming-Chi Kuo on X.com (formerly Twitter), we will have to wait until the end of 2024 to hope to see a new version of the iMac equipped with a 24-inch screen and the M3 chip. But then, what about the high-end iMac, which has been discussed for many months now?

When will the 32-inch iMac with mini-LED screen be available?

Still according to Ming-Chi Kuo, the high-end iMac would not be released before 2025. This would also have a 32-inch mini-LED screen and would accommodate thinner edges than usual. It could even, according to the suggestions of our colleagues at MacRumorsto be positioned as a brand new Mac Pro.

In summary, this new iMac (Pro?) could roughly come close to the Studio Display, although only the Pro Display XDR currently has a 32-inch screen on the Apple side.

For the moment, a relatively thick veil prevents us from truly understanding Apple’s plans for its future screens. But one thing is certain: the Cupertino company is indeed working on revisions of its iMacs. However, you will have to be patient before you can get your hands on it.

Apple iMac (2021)

  • A very elegant and modern design
  • M1 processor performance
  • Finally a webcam worthy of the name

The 2021 iMac gives a big boost to Apple’s desktop computer range. Prettier and more powerful too, it is the ideal all-in-one for families and sufficiently efficient for most teleworking employees. It’s a shame that the device is so expensive, even in its simplest configuration.
