A majority of the Villach city government has decided to hold the traditional Advent market with restrictions from November 27th. The best possible security should be guaranteed. The market is being relocated from the area around the parish church to Kaiser-Josef-Platz. There, the popular sales huts can be made accessible in a limited area in accordance with the 2G rule (vaccinated or recovered).
“In this way we guarantee that the federal government’s corona requirements can be checked at any time,” says Mayor Günther Albel. “Control wristbands for market visitors like those used in other cities are not an alternative in Villach. The state of Carinthia has clearly communicated to us that this would not comply with the law.
