Mazda is preparing to roll out the 2022 vintage of its MX-5. It is characterized by an evolution in handling and new colors.
By carrying out this final restyling, the brand wanted to further develop a model which, for more than three decades, has won over its customers.
To further accentuate this Jinba Ittai spirit, Mazda imagined the Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) system, a brand new technology specially developed for the MX-5.
As soon as this system detects a difference in rotational speed between the rear wheels when cornering, it slightly actuates the brake of the rear inner wheel.
It thus reduces body roll, optimizing the characteristics of the MX-5’s multi-link rear suspension. In short, the KPC system stabilizes the vehicle, especially in tight bends where it is subjected to high acceleration forces, which helps to further improve the already legendary handling of the MX-5 while optimizing its driving comfort.
The KPC system, which has no impact on vehicle weight, will be standard on all 2022 MX-5s, both on the soft-top (ST) and retractable hard-top (RF) versions.
Increased personalization
On the design side, the two body types inherit new colors: Platinum Quartz metallic for the exterior and Nappa Terracotta * leather or even Nappa White * leather for the interior.
Mazda is also offering a new Dark Blue finish for the convertible top of its MX-5 in addition to black and red, previously reserved for special series.
Mazda now offers its customers wishing to personalize their roadster, a large number of possible combinations.
The MX-5 2022 will be marketed in Europe in early January.
