Charles doesn’t let himself get down. Photos from the palace show him in good spirits during a meeting with the head of the Commonwealth.

King Charles III (75) continues to work hard. Despite his current cancer treatment, the monarch dedicated himself to another important appointment last Wednesday (March 13th). He received Patricia Scotland (68), the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, at Buckingham Palace and appeared to be in a good mood.

Photos show the king beaming and laughing at the meeting with the British lawyer and politician, who has headed the Commonwealth of Nations since 2016. The two chatted animatedly and shook hands. For the visit to the monarch, Scotland chose a festive satin dress in light gray. Charles wore a dark blue pinstripe suit with a white shirt and royal blue tie.

So Charles was there on Commonwealth Day

King Charles did not appear at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey last Monday (March 11). However, Queen Camilla (76) and his son Prince William (41) took over the representation for the monarch, who is currently not attending any public appointments due to his cancer treatment. At least Charles got in touch via a video message that is said to have been recorded at Windsor Castle in February. The clip was part of the service.
