New record transfer – Daka confirms: “I’m going to England”

The mega-transfer from the series champion Salzburg is dry! For weeks it has been apparent that Bundesliga top scorer Patson Daka will say goodbye, now he’s perfect. “I will go to England and move to Leicester City,” the Zambian striker told the “Krone”.

Patson Daka is writing Austrian football history with his move, because the transfer fee should be over the 30 million euro mark. With which the attacker, who scored 68 goals in 125 competitive games for the red-white-red industry leader and prepared 27 more, becomes the new record transfer within the Bundesliga.

Keita and Mane so far front runners
So far, Naby Keita has been at the top, who brought Salzburg in a little more than 29 million euros through his move to Leipzig and the resale participation in the transfer to Liverpool. The highest transfer fee for a direct transfer was generated by superstar Sadio Mane when he moved to Southampton for around 23 million euros. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old also plays for the team of star coach Jürgen Klopp.

The decision was not easy for Daka, but he knew that the time had come for the next step in his career. “I had a great time here, Salzburg has become my second home,” he said. “I will always be happy to come back here, but the Premier League has always been my big dream.”

Convincing premiere
In view of the mega transfer, the first test under Neo head coach Matthias Jaissle faded into the background. The Bulls delivered a 3-1 win over DAC Dunajska Streda – Capaldo celebrated his debut – in front of 375 spectators in Seekirchen but over long stretches a strong performance.

“I am really satisfied,” said Jaissle. The training camp in Bramberg starts today for the bulls. At the end of July, however, there could be a reunion with Atlético Madrid – a test is planned.
