The September Feature Drop for Android 13 has just arrived with its usual batch of new features. On the program: new widgets for Google, the ability to scan any card with Google Wallet or the integration of Zoom into Android Auto. A quick overview of what awaits you with this update.
Every quarter, Google rolls out a new Feature Drop to Android. The principle is simple, adds new features to its operating system, generally announced during the presentation of said OS, where other updates consist mainly of fixing bugs and other security flaws. In this month of September, it is therefore a new Feature Drop which arrives on our smartphones – in the absence of being entitled to Android 14, which should finally land next month.
We will therefore have to be satisfied with this small refresh on Android 13, all the same quite substantial since it brings a good number of very interesting features. We find in particular the arrival of conferences on Android Auto via Zoom, as well as the improvement of the Google Preview widget which displays new very practical information. So here is a summary of what awaits you in the latest update.

Here are all the new features coming to Android 13
Google’s Overview widget shows new information
First novelty, the Google Preview widget is entitled to some improvements. For starters, we notice a new design that displays the details more clearly. But above all, it is all new information that now appears on the lock screen of your smartphone. In particular, it is possible to have alerts on the weather, your future trips and events. Practice so you don’t forget anything.

Lookout app can now describe any image
You may be using Lookout, this application that allows visually impaired people to better interact with their smartphone and their environment. The latter is therefore entitled to a major update, since it can now describe any image uploaded by the user. He can also ask questions to obtain more details, whether in writing or orally. The icing on the cake: Lookout now supports 11 new languages, for a total of 34.
2) With image Q&A, now out of closed beta, the Lookout app can automatically generate descriptions from images that have low quality captions or that don’t have alt text at all. Users can then use their voice or type to ask questions about the image. pic.twitter.com/amp6LJDzS7

Google Wallet can now scan any card from a photo
Google Wallet is arguably one of Android’s most practical apps, allowing you to do without your wallet almost entirely by storing all your payment, membership, loyalty, etc. cards. But the process of adding these maps can be a bit laborious, so Google decided to simplify things. Now you can scan any card containing a barcode or QR code using a simple photo. The app will take care of the rest.
3) Google Wallet now supports Pass photo import, letting you digitize any pass that has a barcode or QR code. You can, for example, upload an image of your gym or library card to store a digital version of it in Google Wallet. pic.twitter.com/9Mdw0bqZlZ

The app does exactly what you expect it to do, which is to let you join a call and view your upcoming appointments directly from your infotainment system. Be careful though to keep an eye on the road.

Google Assistant Routines allow you to obtain various information or perform various actions automatically, as often as you want. With the latest update, it includes the ability to listen to a summary of various health data, such as the quality of your sleep or your physical activity during the day, on a daily basis using a simple option.
5) You can now get Assistant to automatically read out your activity and sleep data (from Fitbit or Google Fit) through a new action in personal Routines. For example, you can add the “get wellness info” action to the “Hey Google, good morning” routine. pic.twitter.com/DWK6QP1VEb
