New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and you don’t yet know how to paint your New Year’s Eve nails? GALA shows you the most beautiful designs to imitate.

The countdown to the turn of the year is on. The Your New Year’s Eve outfit and make-up have been decided on for days and you can hardly wait for New Year’s Eve? You shouldn’t leave anything to chance when it comes to your nails. GALA shows you five inspiring nail designs for New Year’s Eve nails with a wow factor.

New Year’s Eve nails: A little glitter is a must

On New Year’s Eve you can go all out. Everything that shines and glitters is perfect – even when it comes to nails. Whether as coarse-grained glitter particles or subtle metallic elements, New Year’s nails impress with their shimmering look. They are playful, glamorous and sometimes borderline kitsch. And even if the nail salon is closed, most nail designs can be easily recreated at home.

New Year’s Eve nails: Simple, but even more beautiful

Simple doesn’t always mean less impressive. The first nail design proves: Small polish effects have a big effect on the nails.

Magical and so easy to implement – for dry brush nails you don’t need much more than a top and bottom coat as well as a colored varnish, gold or silver are ideal for New Year’s Eve. The following steps must be taken into account:

  1. Prepare the nails with a base coat
  2. Wipe the brush of the colored polish off the neck of the bottle so that only a little of the nail polish remains on it. Then add color accents to the side fingernail
  3. Finally fix the result with a clear varnish

Expand your color range

The greatest effect without spending a lot of time can be achieved if the color range for the fingernails is expanded. Instead of relying on a single color, a harmonious play of colors makes the music here. The important thing is: stick to one color scheme, because if it gets too colorful, the nails will look too summery. Colors such as: burgundy, beige, brown, gold and silver are ideal for the perfect New Year’s nails.

Nails with glitter highlights

On New Year’s Eve we can finally unpack our beloved glitter nail polishes again. What seems “over the top” the rest of the year is just right on New Year’s Eve. Glitter particles of different sizes, which are distributed on the fingernail without any discernible structure, are particularly popular.

The glitter look looks particularly cool if the base and top coat are transparent, then the nails resemble a shower of shooting stars.

New Year’s nails in 80s style

The 80s are back and so are the latest manicure trends. One look in particular can be convincing on New Year’s Eve: With metallic nails you will be the hit of every New Year’s party. There are no limits to your creativity when it comes to nails. Metallic varnishes can either be applied opaquely by painting the nails two to three times, or mixed with a color. The result is iridescent colors that create a glamorous disco feeling.

New Year’s nails: Matt and elegant

Dark red nails are still classics when it comes to Christmas or New Year’s Eve. The manicure gets a stylish update in a matt look. For the lips, matt colors have become an indispensable part of the cosmetics market since Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits, and elegant nail art is also on the rise in manicures.

In combination with the matching lipstick, you will quickly become the style queen of the evening. And the good thing: If you don’t have matte nail polish at hand, you can achieve the dull look with simple tricks.

Remove glitter nail polish correctly

As much as we love glitter particles in nail polish, they are a nightmare for any nail polish remover. But we also know a trick for this that will remove even the last bit of glitter from the nail. All you need is:

Simply soak the cotton pads with nail polish remover, place the pads on your fingernails and then secure them with a piece of aluminum foil. The whole thing needs to take effect for between five and ten minutes and you will have well-groomed nails again.
