New York – Trump admits booster vaccination – and is booed

Former US President Donald Trump claims he was boosted against the corona virus – and has not made himself popular with his supporters. On Sunday, Trump revealed in a live interview with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly that he had received a third dose of vaccine. As a result, viewers booed him, according to a video recording shared on the Internet of O’Reilly’s online show “No Spin News”.

“Both the president and I are vaccinated,” the moderator begins in the interview at the American Airlines Center, an arena in Dallas, Texas. Scornful calls come from the audience. “Did you get the booster?” He asks the ex-president, who replies in the affirmative. “I got it too,” says O’Reilly. “It doesn’t,” Trump says repeatedly, waving his hand dismissively as the crowd boos even louder. Trump made his last appearance as part of his “The History Tour,” a series of live shows with O’Reilly.

As recently as September, Trump had told the Wall Street Journal that he would “probably” not be given a booster vaccination. “I’ll look at that stuff later. I’m not against it, but it’s probably not for me, ”he explained at the time.

Trump has positioned himself against compulsory vaccination, but at the same time attaches the development of corona vaccines to his lapel during his term of office. At the same time, he steadfastly refused to call on his followers to get vaccinated. While top politicians like his former Vice Mike Pence, his successor Joe Biden and his Vice Kamala Harris rolled up their sleeves in public, Trump preferred to get vaccinated privately – knowing how unpopular the vaccines are among large parts of his base.
